Many other 12-volt coolers use weak compressors to reduce the temperature of your food and beverages. ARB fridge freezers come equipped with robust Danfoss compressors to provide powerful refrigeration that can actually cools your food and drinks down--and then keeps them cold. All ARB fridge freezer models are capable of reducing the interior temperature to 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
ARB fridge freezers are designed to both actively and passively cool your food and drinks--even while the vehicle is off. When the internal temperature of the fridge rises above the digital thermostat's setting, the compressor activates to cool the contents back down. The adjustable integrated battery protection system allows the fridge to sip battery power while your vehicle is off, keeping your food and drinks cold without overly draining your battery. Heavy duty insulation and hardware helps maintain chilly temperatures. The 50-quart model is able to maintain sub-freezing temperatures in 90 degree heat while only drawing 0.87 amps per hour from a 12-volt power source. That’s less power than a single headlamp draws. Once to temperature, ARB fridge freezers consume the least amount of power when compared to other leading brands.

The 82-quart model is the largest fridge ARB manufactures. It's ideal for long-term camping, larger groups, or as a community fridge when venturing outdoors with friends. It suits large SUVs, wagons, pickup trucks, and camper trailers. The main internal compartment measures 18.78" deep, 13.98" wide, and 15.79" high; and the dairy compartment measures 5.95" deep, 13.98" wide, and 8.11" high. It can hold up to 120 12-ounce cans, and can also accommodate two-liter bottles of soda.
Heavy-Duty Construction for Years of Use
Designed with travelers and off-road drivers in mind, all ARB fridge freezer models come equipped with a super-durable patented hinge system with a front-opening lid that provides easy access to fridge contents. This design is compatible with ARB fridge freezer slides, which provide quick drawer-like access to the entire unit and allows you to bolt the fridge to your vehicle. ARB fridge freezers can be mounted at extreme angles up to 30 degrees without affecting operation or reliability.
Two separate power cords are included. The DC power cord connects to your vehicle's DC power outlet, providing 12 and 24-volt power to the unit while you're on the go. The AC power cord plugs into a standard household electrical socket, and supplies power to the fridge when you're at home or at your destination. A built-in cable retention system keeps the power cords neat when not in use. The power system is completely self-contained within the fridge unit, so there's no external transformers or power "bricks" to worry about.
As with any refrigerator, it is important to have quality wiring running to the power outlet that you are plugging the fridge into. This minimizes harmful voltage drops which can harm internal parts. For increased product life, it is recommended that you protect the fridge freezer from weather and the elements.

This involves travel where the temperatures can be over 90 degrees and which involves overnight motel stays on our way there and home. For the past few years we have packed our food (both for the trip and staples for our vacation) in our car, which is an added advantage of driving, which we much prefer, to flying. We have kept our refrigerated items in a 12 volt car refrigerator which we bought from the manufacturer of my wife's car as an relatively inexpensive option, and supplemented that with a cooler with ice packs. While that system kept the food cool, it was less than ideal for several reasons. First, we could not bring frozen items, since they would not stay frozen given the air temperature, the cooling abilty of the unit, and the length of the trip.Second, the battery draw was great enough that we could not keep the refigerator running during our overnight stays, thus the... I keep this fridge set on 33 degrees farenhiet. I always have cold food and drinks. If I don't start my truck for 3 days, the fridge will automatically shut off. I have the cut off voltage on the fridge set to the middle position (can't remember the exact voltage). Even if the fridge has shut off, it leaves plenty of juice for my truck to start. This was in the dead of summer when my inside truck temps probably exceeded 140 degrees or more, so I'm sure the fridge was running a lot. I drive around 10,000 miles a month, so my truck doesn't normally sit for 3 days without being started. I love being able to keep meat, leftovers, or whatever in this fridge without having to buy ice, or worry about everything being water logged. I think this fridge should pay for itself in no time. I buy cases of ozarka water to keep in the fridge and this saves me about a dollar every time I grab one ot... I can't tell you how much money I have saved by not stopping for food and drinks. Even if I wasn't saving money, I would probably still buy one. It is so convenient to be able to reach behind the seat and grab a cold drink. I don't have to worry about ice or loading it in the morning. I just refill the fridge once a week, and I am set.As a test, I put the fridge in my car to see how long it would last before it shutoff due to low battery voltage. After five days, it was still going strong, but I had to end the test because I needed to drive my car. My point is that I have no worries about leaving it running for long periods of time. When I bought the fridge, I was a little concerned about how well it would cool in a hot car. It does amazingly well.
